1. Speed of light and the speed of The angels and the spirit
"The angels and the spirit ascend unto him in a Day the measure whereof is (as) fifty thousand years:"
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Ma'arij (The Ascending Stairways, Staircases Upward, Sckeptic), Surah # 70 : Ayah # 4)
It has been found from theory of relativity that Time dilation can be found with the help of following equation:
T = To / sqrt (1 - sqr(v)/sqr(c))
Where
T = Time measured by other observers
To = Proper time = Time measured by an observer in his/her own frame of reference
v = velocity of the body
c = velocity of light
From the above mentioned Ayah we have found that
T = 50,000 yrs = 15,77,88,00,00,000 seconds = 1.57788 x 10^12 (Here i have consider year = 365.25 days)
To = 1 day = 24 hrs = 86,400 seconds = 8.64 x 10^4
v = unknown
c = 29,97,92,458 m/s
By putting these values in the above mentioned equation, we get
=> 1.57788 x 10^12 = 8.64 x 10^4 / sqrt(1 - sqr(v)/sqr(29,97,92,458))
=> 1.57788 x 10^12 x sqrt(1 - sqr(v)/sqr(29,97,92,458)) = 8.64 x 10^4
=> sqrt(1 - sqr(v)/sqr(29,97,92,458)) = 8.64 x 10^4 / 1.57788 x 10^12
=> sqrt(1 - sqr(v)/sqr(29,97,92,458)) = 8.64/1.57788 x 10^8
=> sqrt(1 - sqr(v)/sqr(29,97,92,458)) = 5.4757015742642026 / 10^8

This velocity is almost equal to the velocity of light but not exactly equal to it as minor deviations count a lot in the field of space science.
This can be the velocity of angels and the spirit. One thing has been proven from this equation that angels and the spirit are not moving with exactly the speed of light.
One can think after reading this calculation that May be the year mentioned in the above mentioned Ayah is Lunar year and not the Solar year. But this can be clarified by the fact that Surah Al-Ma'arij is a Makki Surah (i.e. it came down, When our beloved Hazrat Muhammad (S. A. W.) was in Makkah) and still no figures of Hijri Calender were established.
