1. Money Matters

Money Matters

Key to Success:
But the Messenger and those who believe along with him have strived with their wealth and with themselves. They are the people who will have the good things. They are the ones who are successful. (88)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Tawbah (The Repentance) or Bara’ah (The Disavowal), Surah # 9: Ayah # 88)

Giving in the righteous way:
They will ask you what they should give away. Say, ‘Any wealth you give away should go to your parents and relatives and to orphans and the very poor and travellers.’ Whatever good you do, Allah knows it. (215)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #215)

The metaphor of those who spend their wealth in the Way of Allah is that of a grain which produces seven ears; in every ear there are a hundred grains. Allah gives such multiplied increase to whoever He wills. Allah is All Encompassing, All-Knowing.
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah # 261)

Those who give away their wealth by night and day, secretly and openly, will have their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. (274)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #274)

Spending Money:
Spend in the Way of Allah. Do not cast yourselves into destruction. And do good: Allah loves good-doers. (195)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #195)

But do not squander what you have. (26) Squanderers are brothers to the Satans, and Satan was ungrateful to his Lord. (27)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al Isra’ (The Night Journey) or Bani Isra’il (The Children of Israel), Surah # 17: Ayah # 26-27)

(Believers are) those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor mean, but take a stance mid way between the two. (67)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion), Surah # 25: Ayah # 67)

He who has plenty should spend out from his plenty, but he whose provision is restricted should spend from what Allah has given him. Allah does not demand from any self more than He has given it. Allah will appoint after difficulty, ease. (7)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Talaq (Divorce), Surah # 65: Ayah #7)

Alms:
The alms are for: the poor, the destitute, those who collect it, reconciling people’s hearts, freeing slaves, those in debt, spending in the Way of Allah, and travellers. It is a legal obligation from Allah. Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (60)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Tawbah (The Repentance) or Bara’ah (The Disavowal), Surah # 9: Ayah # 60)

Trial:
We will test you with a certain amount of fear and hunger and loss of wealth and life and fruits. But give good news to the steadfast.
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah # 155)

Know that your wealth and children are a trial and that there is an immense reward with Allah. (28)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Anfal (The Spoils of War), Surah # 8: Ayah # 28)

Psychology of Mankind:
Truly man is ungrateful to his Lord. (6) Truly man is ungrateful to his Lord (6) and indeed he bears witness to that. (7) Truly he is fierce in his love of wealth. (8)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al ‘Adiyat (Those That Run), Surah # 100: Ayah # 6-8)
