Characteristics of Righteous Men and Women

(This is a brief collection of Characteristics of Righteous Men and Women. For a complete list, you should have to refer to Holy Quran)

Guard against evil:
It is not devoutness to turn your faces to the East or to the West. Rather, those with true devoutness are those who believe in Allah and the Last Day, the Angels, the Book and the Prophets, and who, despite their love for it, give away their wealth to their relatives and to orphans and the very poor, and to travellers and beggars and to set slaves free, and who perform prayer and give the alms; those who honour their contracts when they make them, and are steadfast in poverty and illness and in battle. Those are the people who are true. They are the people who guard against evil. (177)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #177)

As for those who guard against evil, when they are bothered by visitors from Satan, they remember and immediately see clearly. (201)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-A’araf (The Heights), Surah # 7: Ayah # 201)

Mutual Consultation:
(What is with Allah is better for) those who respond to their Lord and perform prayer, and manage their affairs by mutual consultation and give of what We have provided for them. (38)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Shura (Consultation), Surah # 42: Ayah # 38)

Love for ALLAH:
But those who believe have greater love for Allah.
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #165 )

The believers are those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, whose faith is increased when His Signs are recited to them, and who put their trust in their Lord;
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Anfal (The Spoils of War), Surah # 8: Ayah # 2-4)

Actions:
Those who believe and do right actions and perform prayer and give the alms, will have their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and will know no sorrow. (277)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Baqarah (The Heifer), Surah # 2: Ayah #277)

Those who repent, those who worship, those who praise, those who fast, those who bow, those who prostrate, those who command the right, those who forbid the wrong, those who preserve the limits of Allah: give good news to the believers. (112)
(Holy Quran, Surah Al-Tawbah (The Repentance) or Bara’ah (The Disavowal), Surah # 9: Ayah # 112)
